Germany’s remote clergyman says the nearness of outside representatives at the Caracas air terminal on Monday kept the capture of Venezuelan restriction pioneer Juan Guaido.

Heiko Maas said on Thursday he explicitly asked Germany’s represetative to Venezuela, Daniel Kriener, to join different agents at the airport.

He told correspondents in Berlin on that “there was data that [Guaido] was intended to be captured there, and I think the nearness of different envoys added to keeping this arrest.

“On Wednesday, the administration of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro declared it was allowing Kriener 48 hours to leave the nation, a move seen as a reaction to Germany’s help for Guaido.
