The police in Kano state have captured the state deputy governor, Nasir Gawuna and the commissioner responsible for Local government and chieftaincy affairs, Sule Garo, for disturbing procedures at the Kano State collation centre of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The two best government officialshad raged the collation centre at about 2am toward the beginning of today and started to disturb the procedure. Their activities prompted an end in the declaration of results at the middle after some young suspected to be supporters with the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) attempted to assault the two authorities.
The police are expected to later release Mr Gawuna without charges as he enjoys constitutional immunity from prosecution based on the office he holds.
